Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?
The most famous or perhaps infamous person I have ever met was a teacher named Mrs. Ade. She was not a celebrity that people recognized on television, but in our community, her name traveled faster than the wind. Some people spoke of her with great respect, while others mentioned her with caution. She had a reputation for being strict, bold, and completely honest. If she did not like something, she said it without fear. If she believed in you, she pushed you until you also believed in yourself.
I met her on my first day of school. She stepped into the classroom with firm steps and eyes that looked like they could see every secret you carried. I remember how she paused in front of me and said, “Greatness is not far, but you must walk toward it yourself.” At first, I did not understand, but as time passed, her words made sense. She pushed us to think, to try, to fail, and to try again.
Some students feared her, but many of us admired her. She changed minds, shaped hearts, and challenged excuses. She may never appear on a magazine cover, but she remains unforgettable.
