What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?
Every family has those special meals that bring everyone together, and in my family, a few dishes always stand out as our absolute favorites. One of the top meals is jollof rice. The rich aroma, the bright color, and the perfect blend of spices make it a regular choice for weekends and celebrations. We usually pair it with fried chicken or grilled fish, and everyone always goes back for a second plate.
Another favorite is vegetable soup with swallow. Whether it’s eba, fufu, or pounded yam, this meal always makes the whole house feel warm and happy. The soup is packed with flavour from stockfish, meat, and assorted vegetables, making it both nutritious and comforting.
We also love fried plantain and eggs, especially for breakfast. It’s simple, quick, and delicious—perfect for busy mornings when everyone is rushing out but still wants something tasty. Lastly, on special occasions, we prepare pepper soup. The spicy, soothing taste makes it perfect when someone needs comfort or when we have visitors.
Altogether, these meals are more than just food; they’re moments of bonding. They remind us of laughter, conversations, and the joy of eating together as a family.
